The CW have now released the official promo trailer for Season 3 - Episode 14 of The Vampire Diaries.

SOME ENCHANTED EVENING - Elena is surprised to receive an invitation to a formal ball, and when Damon and Stefan hear the party is being hosted at Klaus's newly renovated mansion, they both insist on attending the event with her. Caroline and Matt also receive invitations to the ball from unexpected admirers. At the elegant party, Elena learns of a horrifying plan that could lead to numerous deaths and she must decide who she can trust wither her new information. Caroline discovers a side of Klaus no one would have suspected. Finally, after an evening of violence and dashed hopes, Damon finds a new way to cope. There are more "Dangerous Liaisons" promotional photos out now, showing the Originals at the ball, now that it's been revealed that they've been undaggered. The previous photos only showed Elena, Damon, Stefan, Klaus, and Caroline in attendance, as the others had still been daggered until the final scenes of "Bringing Out the Dead," and as worried as you have to be, you can't help but be intrigued about what's coming.
Claire Holt talked to TV Guide about Rebekah being undaggered and what's coming up on the show with the Originals all around. She teased some "turmoil" coming in The Vampire Diaries season 3, as Rebekah won't have forgotten Elena stabbed her in the back. So, Elena better watch out, and it's probably a good thing it looks like she has two escorts for this ball, as both Damon and Stefan have decided to attend. However, with the drama that appears to be coming there, Rebekah may have her chance to get Elena alone. The entire family was surprised when Esther returned, and Holt did say that Rebekah "is really excited to have her mother back," adding that now the Originals can be "a powerful unit." With all the anger aimed at Klaus, you have to wonder what the rest of the Original family will be up to in Mystic Falls. Will they put it aside to side with their brother, or could Damon appeal to them like he turned to Elijah?
Holt also teased a bit of what's coming up for Rebekah and Klaus since she learned that her brother killed Esther before being daggered: "He's absolute going to feel some aggression aimed towards him from Rebekah." She's feeling betrayed, and while she does say Esther's return lessens that a bit, she's not just going to forget. In fact, the siblings were planning to take care of family business themselves when Esther showed up. Is that over for good, or have they just put that aside to appease their mother? Speaking of Rebekah and her brothers, Holt also talked about Elijah, saying Rebekah looks up to him and recalling when he was described as having "a really strong moral compass." That's no surprise, but it is sometimes hard to figure out which side Elijah is on—or which side he'll stay on. Anything can happen now that the Originals are back, and it looks like "Dangerous Liaisons" is going to be a fun episode.
