While Doug plays softball with the company team, Nancy deals pot on the sidelines; Andy opens his bike shop while Silas sells pot out of the back room; and a police detective offers Shane an internship. We’re ready to put a little bit of Heylia James back in our lives. We pick up right where we left off, in the front yard of Heylia’s Humboldt County, California halfway house. She’s got a rifle, and she looks like she means to use it. Nancy and Silas take cover behind a dumpster, but Heylia doesn’t waste her time. She lets off a few choice shots, breaking the window of the rental car and clearly ignoring Nancy’s pleas for calm. In a bit of surprising returning-guest-star-from-the-past nostalgia, Dean Hodes, he of the formerly well-to-do Agrestic branch of the Hodes family, ambles out of the house with his pants off. He grabs the gun from Heylia. 

Before the current season of "Weeds" began, there were reports that it would be its last (conflicting reports, to be sure, but it was out there nonetheless).Now, though, it sounds like the scale is tipping toward the series continuing into an eighth season on Showtime. "I'm optimistic," Showtime Entertainment president David Nevins said Thursday (Aug. 4) at the Television Critics Association press tour. "It's been an interesting year, and I'm excited for people to see where it goes by the end of the season as all the stories coalesce."Nevins also praises creator Jenji Kohan for "evolving her show and making it move in different places," which he thinks could help extend the life of the show. "I haven't picked it up yet, but I'm optimistic," he says.Other notes from Showtime's press tour session:- Three series -- two veterans and one new show -- will roll premiere.

A widowed suburban mother determinedly keeps up appearances in her idyllic community, whose residents remain oblivious to the fact that she's the source of the high-quality marijuana that's suddenly flooded the neighborhood. After her husband's unexpected death and subsequent financial woes, suburban mom Nancy Botwin (Parker) embraces a new profession: the neighborhood pot dealer. Aided by her wayward black-sheep brother-in-law Andy, she struggles to keep her new means of bill-solving secret from her suspicious PTA members and nosy neighbor as well as from her children, Shane and his teenage brother Silas. As the plot continues she struggles to protect the ones she loves.
